via Alexandrina's secure online payment facililty.
DEFT
You can also logon to DEFT Online http://www.deft.com.au/ and pay your rates using their website (have your rate notice handy as your DEFT number is required).
Pay by Credit Card
To pay immediately by using your credit card, simply go to http://www.deft.com.au/, enter your DEFT number in the space on the left of the screen and choose pay by Credit Card or phone DEFT Payment Systems on 1300 309 300.
Register for Direct Debit
To register for Direct Debit by using DEFT online, go to http://www.deft.com.au/, enter your DEFT number in the space on the left screen and then print out the Direct Debit Registration Form, fill it in and return it to the reply paid address.

Once registered for Direct Debit for DEFT, you can pay online by going to http://www.deft.com.au/, entering your DEFT number in the space on the left hand side of the screen, and choose to pay via Direct Debit
Payments can also be made by the following methods
BPay
Contact your participating bank, credit union or building society to make payments directly from your cheque or savings account. You will be required to enter the Biller Code (36012) and BPay reference number as detailed on the front of your rates notice.
In Person
Payments can be made in person by taking your rates notice to one of our council offices or to any Australia Post Office. Council offices are situated in Cadell St Goolwa and Coleman Tce Strathalbyn. Click here for council locations and office hours. Go to http://www.auspost.com.au/ for Post Office loctions and trading hours.
