Designated Permanent Dry Areas within Alexandrina Council area.
The Goolwa Skate Park is a designated Dry Area 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Please see attached Map highlighting the Dry Area.
The Strathalbyn Soldiers Memorial Gardens and surrounding streets is a designated Dry Area from 9.00pm - 6.00am seven days per week. Also included are the roads and footpaths surrounding the Strathalbyn Oval (e.g. West Tce to Ashbourne Road, Ashbourne Road to Queen Street, Queen Street to Coronation Road, Coronation Road to West Terrace. Select Areas of Port Elliot are a designated Dry Area from 10.00pm - 6.00am seven days a week. Please see attached Map highlighting the Dry Area.
Council also applies on an annual basis to have various areas designated as "Dry Areas" during New Year's Eve.
Council does have the power to give permission to persons wishing to hold a function in the Strathalbyn Soldiers Memorial Gardens and the Port Elliot area during the Dry Areatimes. Please contact Christine Hamlyn on (08) 8555 7000 for further information.
