Goolwa Pump Track Concept Plan

Have your say

Key information for you to know about the track surface:

A track surface can be clay or hot mix (asphalt/bitumen). Alexandrina Council has chosen to use hot mix. Using this surface will make the track accessible to a larger cross-section of the community. If you ride a bike, scooter, skate or skateboard, you can ride this pump track! The surface is also considered more durable, resulting in a track that stays in great condition for many years to come.

Feedback closes on Monday, 16 July -

In April 2018, Alexandrina Council successfully attained a State Government grant of $25,000 through the Office for Recreation and Sport, which will help fund the installation of a pump track. Council will match the funding to see the project delivered.

Pump tracks are the latest incarnation of the humble BMX track which have swept the country by storm. The track features a series of banked turns and humps, allowing the rider to navigate the circuit by creating momentum using a ‘pumping’ motion, rather than pedalling.

Adjoining the Goolwa Skate Park, the pump track will enhance the precinct, providing young residents with a place to meet, exercise and feel a sense of ownership.
