Rotary Duck Race

The Annual Rotary Duck Race at Strathalbyn is a site to see. This is not your average duck race, with thousands of plastic ducks released into the waters of the Angus River for the race that stops a nation.

The ducks are propelled by a large fan setup upon a pontoon floating in the Angus River. Once the signal is given the fan is fired up and away the ducks go. With plastic rails constructed to guide the ducks down the river this is a spectacle not to be missed. Why not buy a raffle ticket which will give you a spot in the great race.

There is plenty other activities on the day including the 2 corporate duck races, where by local businesses purchase their own ducks dress them up. With local stallholders offering a variety of food and drink along with crafts, produce and other items of interest this is a great way to see the Historic Town of Strathalbyn in its full colour.

All of the proceeds raised from this day are put back into the community through a variety ways.
