Arts and Culture

Alexandrina is home to vibrant communities where a high population of artists have chosen to live and work, making us a regional centre of culture in South Australia.

Just Add Water is the arts and culture program of events and activities within the Alexandrina region. This regional arts program aspires to offer arts and cultural experiences that enrich the lives of residents and visitors. Whether through direct participation in projects such as the annual Drawing on Country community art project ,participation in youth theatre or performance and musical productions in Centenary Hall. Signal Point Gallery and the South Coast Regional Art Centre offer year round visual art exhibitions with associated workshop opportunities.

South Coast Regional Arts Centre

1 Goolwa Terrace, Goolwa - Opening Hours: Wednesday to Sunday 10am to 4pm

The South Coast Regional Arts Centre promotes emerging and professional artists from across the Southern Fleurieu region and is a hive of creative activity including artists’ studios. Located in the historic Old Goolwa Police Station on Goolwa Terrace, the Arts Centre is a unique mixture of heritage and culture at the gateway to the Goolwa Wharf Precinct.

Signal Point Gallery showcases the best of professional artists from the region and nationally touring exhibitions in a yearly calendar of exhibitions, workshops and high quality productions.

Centenary Hall

Situated at 14 Cadell Street, Centenary Hall, Goolwa

Centenary Hall is an adaptable, contemporary performing arts venue ideal for events ranging from theatrical or musical performance to product launches, exhibitions, film screenings, seminars, meetings and conferences.

Centenary Hall is available for hire by commercial promoters and presenters, individuals and community groups.

Facilities include: state-of-the-art professional technical infrastructure, a Green Room, two dressing rooms, a ‘supper’ kitchen with some catering capacity from local providers.
