Sandergrove Road, Strathalbyn
Council has been advised that SA Water will commence water main upgrades to Sandergrove Road, Strathalbyn in February. SA Water media release link following, https://bit.ly/2U4B5ix
These works are necessary to ensure services are maintained and able to support future growth of the Strathalbyn township. Construction will commence in February for works including replacement of 765m of water mains over an anticipated 14 week period. As speed and traffic restrictions are enforced for single lane movement, we ask road users to be patient and adhere to the speed limit for the safety of construction workers. Works will take place on the eastern side of the West Terrace roundabout heading west along Sandergrove Road.
It is expected that these works will cause some traffic delays through the township entrance, however they are deemed necessary by SA Water. It is unfortunate that in this case, both parties’ timeframes for works on Sandergrove Road could not be aligned.
We look forward to seeing the road and streetscape reinstated to its current condition once SA Water’s upgrade work is complete. SA Water will ensure all kerb and driveways, existing garden beds and road surface is established as close as possible to its condition prior to their works.
We wish to thank the community for their patience during this time and understand that SA Water has sent letters to residences directly affected. Council will continue to liaise with SA Water to ensure these important infrastructure works are completed and Strathalbyn entrance reinstated.
