Goolwa Surf Life Saving Club

Update - 21 December 2018

Mid-December saw completion of the curing of the first floor slabs and following on from this, the contractor returned to site and commenced installation and connection of the major structural steel framing for the first floor.

The site has now been vacated for the Christmas break, and will be remobilising on Monday 7 January 2019 to continue steel works.  During the Christmas and New Year period, the site compound will be reduced to a minimum.  Parking restrictions will be in place in some areas of the existing carpark area.

Following many years of collaboration, and as part of the Goolwa Beach Car Park and Environs Masterplan, Goolwa Surf Life Saving Club (SLSC), Surf Life Saving SA and Alexandrina Council are proud to be embarking on the exciting transformation of the Goolwa Beach precinct, in the form of the new Goolwa Beach SLSC facility.

Following a detailed procurement period Mossop Construction + Interiors, a highly recognised SA construction company has been awarded the construction works of this highly anticipated facility. Both Council and SLSC representatives have ensured local sub-contractor services feature highly within the Mossop construction program.

Mossop will commence work onsite from Monday 6 August 2018 – with site offices, compound and site fencing being established, and the decommissioning of the existing toilet facilities.

Temporary toilet facilities will be established adjacent to the construction site for ongoing, and uninterrupted, public use. The toilets will continue to be serviced on a daily basis, to ensure visitors to beach, café and greater area are provided with complimentary serviced facilities.

Revision to traffic movements within the Goolwa Beach carpark will be clearly signed and advertised during the construction phase.

Alexandrina Council endorsed the Goolwa Beach Car Park and Environs Masterplan on 6 February 2017. The aim of the masterplan is to guide future development and sustainable management of the Goolwa Beach carpark and surrounding area over the next 20 years.
