Food is one of the biggest contributors to our ecological footprint. Growing, Processing, packaging and transporting of food all have an impact on our environment.

One the ways to minimise the negative impacts of the food we eat is to support local food grown in our region. By buying and eating seasonal food that is locally und sustainably produced and sold with minimal packaging we can benefit the environment, the local economy and our health. 

There is already a strong food culture throughout the Fleurieu Peninsula, with farmers markets, food and wine trails and farm gate producers providing memorable experiences for residents and visitors.
