Ag Boom Project

AG BOOM - Calling all farmers!

Help inspire a new generation of farmers

Ag Boom EOI

Ag Boom pairs small farms and agricultural businesses with local Year 10 students, giving students the chance to work alongside farmers to gain knowledge and experience in the agricultural sector.

Through this program, young people learn life skills and experience practical work which could open doors to future employment. Students are exposed to the range of opportunities available to them if they pursue a career in agriculture.

We want to help address the lack of young people entering agricultural industries by helping them to discover the opportunities available, thereby inspiring a new generation of farmers.

For the farmers or businesses, this is the helping hand they need, and an opportunity to shape a future generation of farmers, by sharing their knowledge and skills with young people in our community.

We want all young Australians to experience farming.

Farmers and businesses in the agricultural industry, we encourage you to register your interest today by contacting Bev Boag, Community Wellbeing Officer at Alexandrina Council on 8555 7000 or email alex@alexandrina.sa.gov.au.

Download a copy of the Expression of Interest poster here.

The Ag Boom project has been made possible by a FRRR ABC Heywire Youth Innovation Grant by the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal and is a collaborative project between Alexandrina Council and the Eastern Fleurieu School.
