Section 98 of the Local Government Act 1999 sets out appointment procedures for a Chief Executive Officer. The establishment of a Chief Executive Officer Selection Panel in accordance with Section 98(4) and pursuant to 41 of the Local Government Act 1999 also includes the engagement of a qualified independent person.
The Selection Panel was last established at Council’s meeting of 11 June 2024 (insert resolution reference) for the period required to appoint a new Chief Executive Officer for Alexandrina Council.
Andrew MacDonald was appointed Alexandrina Council’s Chief Executive Officer on 26 September 2024 (C24472).
This committee is not currently operational.
Due to the nature of the process, most items are considered in confidence, but Council may consider releasing relevant documents in due course.
