Alexandrina Council conducts citizenship ceremonies throughout the year, including on Australia Day, for approved applicants who reside within the Council area. All ceremonies are held in accordance with current state guidelines.
Ceremonies generally run for approximately 30 minutes, depending on the number of conferees. Family and friends are welcome to attend.
His Worship the Mayor, Keith Parkes, usually presides over the ceremony.
During the ceremony, you will make the Australian Citizenship Pledge and be presented with your official Citizenship Certificate.
When will my citizenship ceremony take place?
Approved applicants receive an invitation two to four weeks prior to their ceremony. Please note that Council is not responsible for approving or allocating citizenship applicants to a ceremony.
