Alexandrina Council has beautiful parks, gardens and beaches within our district which are very popular for holding wedding ceremonies and events.
The Booking Process:
1. For bookings of Parks, Gardens, Reserves and beaches for Weddings: please phone 8555 7000 to enquire about your booking date.
2. Once the date is checked and approved by Council, a Wedding Booking form will be sent out for completion and payment to confirm your booking.
Terms and Conditions:
- A booking is for wedding ceremony only. Council does not permit wedding receptions to be held in any of our parks or gardens.
- Exclusive use is unable to be given therefore members of the public are able to access the area.
- Council requests no confetti be used and the gardens be left in a clean and tidy condition. Flower petals are permitted.
- A liquor licence may need to be obtained for the consumption of alcohol in any public space (please call Council switchboard on 8555 7000 to enquire)

Beaches
Beaches are available (free of hire-charges) for Wedding ceremonies. Council advise bookings to be necessary, as public and privately held events (e.g. life-saving, aquatic activities) may effect the availability of particular locations.
Bashams Beach and Horseshoe Bay are popular locations for ceremonies, whilst other beaches in Alexandrina Council region are available for use upon request.

Located at the south east end of the foreshore at Horseshoe Bay.

Soldiers Memorial Gardens– Port Elliot
The Soldiers Memorial Gardens at Port Elliot is a picturesque garden overlooking Horseshoe Bay. This A class reserve is also very popular for wedding ceremonies and picnics.
The garden is located off Murray Place, Port Elliot but can also be accessed from Horseshoe Bay.

Harbour Masters Reserve
Harbour Masters Reserve is a picturesque grassed reserve overlooking Horseshoe Bay.

Gardens- Strathalbyn
Soldiers Memorial Gardens– Strathalbyn
The Soldiers Memorial Gardens at Strathalbyn is a centrally located scenic garden which wraps around the River Angas and captures the charm of Strathalbyn.
The garden is located on Commercial Road, Strathalbyn and can also be accessed from Colman Terrace.

The Strathalbyn Soldiers Memorial Gardens are centrally located close to the public swimming pool, shops, hotels and cafes.
