At their meeting of 20 November 2023, Council endorsed the Alexandrina Council Heritage Strategy and Action Plan 2023-2030. The Strategy outlines Alexandrina’s commitment to the effective management and activation of heritage within our region to 2030. It describes the role of Council, and of businesses, community groups and individuals in acheiving the goals and actions of the Strategy.
Investigation into the need for a strategic direction specific to heritage began in 2020. Over the following years, research and statistics were compiled along with the development of a draft series of principles for the management and activation of heritage. At their meeting 16 May 2022, Council received and noted the Background and Research Paper here.
