The Alexandrina Council Region is home to a diverse collection of both natural and built heritage. Building and places with heritage or historic value are recognised as being central to the character of our region and its townships. Through specifically identifying and listing Local and State Heritage Listed places the extent of their statutory protection is increased.

Council offers the service of a Local Heritage advisor to assist owners, of heritage listed places or properties within Historic Area Overlays, with planning any redevelopment on their property.
