The Freedom of Information Act 1991 (the FOI Act) serves to promote openness and transparency in governance and accountability of government agencies, including Councils. Every member of the public has a legally enforceable right to access documents which are held by South Australian state and local government.
The FOI Act sets out the legislative requirements for how applications received from the public, for access to information held by the Council, are to be dealt with.
Freedom of Information applications should be submitted using the form below together with the application fee. Fees and charges will be waived for persons holding a pension concession or can demonstrating financial hardship.
