Work starts on Langhorne Creek Discovery Trail
Alexandrina Council and our Langhorne Creek Discovery Trail project partners marked the start of physical works on site with a groundbreaking ceremony on 3 September 2026.
The sod-turning event in Alfred Langhorne Park marked this important milestone and drew representatives from Council, the Project Partnership Group, and Fleurieu-based construction firm, 35 South Building Co.
Over the next month, early works on the Discovery Trail will involve (weather permitting) the following:
- The establishment of site compounds and storage areas within Frank Potts Reserve, First Reserve, and Alfred Langhorne Park.
- The creation of access to areas of the project.
- Notification to key members of the public of upcoming works.
- Completion of key in-ground services such as connections to power and water.
