Project works on the new Clayton Bay public toilets were complete in July 2025.
This project included the demolition of the existing toilet block located in the same location off Island View Drive, Clayton Bay.
The new facility complies with DDA (Disability Discrimination Act) standards and building codes.
The design takes into consideration of current trends and sustainable materials including accessible, gender neutral and ambulant toilets, baby change facilities and energy-efficient appliances.
The new features include:
- a generous front verandah
- solar power and battery system to support the lighting and hand dryers
- internal light sensors
- sunset timer switch.
External enhancements such as a pedestrian path, kerb ramps and a hard surface temporary parking zone were also built.
This project is fully funded via the Local Road and Community Infrastructure Phase 4 program.
