Port Elliot Obelisk
Repairs on the Port Elliot Obelisk are complete. Contractors finished work on the historic obelisk on 30 October 2025.
Work began on 11 August after extensive investigations into the correct methods to repair the heritage-listed structure, which was damaged by lightning back in December 2023.
The Obelisk overlooks Horseshoe Bay and was first installed in 1852 as a landmark for ships. Constructed from limestone, the structure was rendered in 1933 and painted white.
