Failure to pay rates by the displayed due date on your rate notice will render them overdue, leading to additional charges as follows:
- An immediate fine of 2% of the amount due will be added.
- Interest, as prescribed in the Local Government Act 1999, will be applied monthly to any outstanding balance (including interest) from that point onwards.
However, if you make timely payments during an agreed FlexiPay Payment Arrangement, fines and interest will not be imposed throughout that period. Please note that defaulting on the arrangement will result in fines and interest being applicable for the entire arrangement duration.
If you wish to apply for remission of fines and interest, please complete the application form.
