Festivals and Events play an important role in the cultural, social and economic viability of the Alexandrina Council region. A lively and engaging events calendar provides opportunity for bringing communities together, celebrating our diversity and fostering a shared sense of place.

Council is committed to promoting and supporting events that are well planned and conducted, while achieving minimal environmental impact as well as minimal adverse impact to residents. Council supports many wonderful new and existing events that bring benefit to the community. If you are looking to hold an event in the region we would like to hear from you.

Event Permit
Organising an event can be a complex task and there are a number of approvals and legislative requirements to consider. An Event Permit is required for all events conducted on land that is under the care and control of Alexandrina Council.
Fees
Fees payable will be in accordance with Council’s Schedule of Fees and Charges. Refer to the current financial year's Fees and Charges.
How to apply for an Event Permit
Permit Application forms are required to be lodged with Council by the following specified times unless otherwise negotiated with Council.
Supporting documentation should be provided with the application where available; however, some documents may be submitted at a later stage of the assessment process. All required documentation must be provided to Council’s satisfaction prior to the approval of an Event Permit.

Community Events Grants
Community Events Grants are available to provide financial and/or in-kind support to events which are capable of enhancing community participation, promoting the Alexandrina Council region as a tourism destination and stimulating the local economy while achieving minimal environmental impact as well as minimal adverse impact to residents.
