Alexandrina Sustainable Agricultural Round Table

Alexandrina Sustainable Agricultural Round Table (ASART) membership consists of representatives from the rural community who are able to advocate for their specific agricultural field, together with Council's Elected Members. The group meets quarterly and regularly has guest speakers from various government agencies who work within the rural sector.

The group has been able to assist Council in the development of rural planning policies and provide feedback on industry working papers and initiatives. They were also integral in the introduction of the Rural Initiatives Grant, available annually through Council, which is designed to assist with projects or research in the agricultural field. The initiative has seen a number of trial sites, soil testing and training programs established over the last few years.
