Food handling businesses in South Australia will be impacted by changes to the Food Safety Standard (3.2.A – Food Safety Management Tools).
The Standard introduces new requirements for all food service, catering and retail businesses that handle unpackaged, ready-to-eat and potentially hazardous foods.
Impacted businesses must implement either two or three new food safety management tools, depending on their category. (See information attached)
The Tools are:
- Food Handler Training
- Nomination of a Food Safety Supervisor
- Substantiation of key food handling activities
Affected businesses have until 8 December to implement the new standards.
SA Health are hosting virtual information session for businesses on Tuesday 23 May (9am & 3pm).
