In 2023, the Freeman Lookout in Port Elliot undertook two elements of restoration including:
- drainage upgrade of the lower Freeman Lookout carpark
- restoration of the 1936 Centenary Staircase.
The drainage upgrade includes the installation of a Gross Pollutant Trap and side entry pits.
The 1936 Centenary steps undertook restoration works to conserve the upper and lower staircase structures.
The restoration works are now complete as of July 2023.
