Lions Park Shelter - Colman Terrace, Strathalbyn

Works are complete on the new Lions Park Shelter. The existing shelter, BBQ and furniture has been renewed with the addition of solar lighting and phone charging facilities.

Strathalbyn Senior Citizens Building

The Strathalbyn Senior Citizens Building redevelopment is an exciting project aimed at providing a dedicated centre for the Strathalbyn community from which a raft of community development programs can be delivered.

In 2016, discussions commenced between the Alexandrina Council, Strathalbyn Senior Citizens Club and the Strathalbyn Neighbourhood Centre; with an idea to co-locate both community groups within the Senior Citizens Building and create a collaborative community centre that supports the local and surrounding residents. To accommodate the co-location of both community groups it was agreed that upgrade works would be required to increase the building’s functionality, including a full renovation of the existing kitchen and development of an accessible toilet; as well as a new extension to provide dedicated office and meeting spaces.

Construction commenced in April 2020 and is expected to be completed for the Strathalbyn Neighbourhood Centre to move in early-September 2020.
